Frequently Asked Questions

  • Come by the Studio during classes (check our schedule page or phone 405.525.1000) to meet with the staff and take a look around. Choose your classes, fill out the Enrollment Paperwork found on our registration page, pay your tuition, and you’re in!

For new students registering for level IA, II, or IIA class: our staff will estimate a level for you at the time of enrollment based on your previous dance experience. Once in the class you will be observed by the instructor to get 'leveled' and put in the proper class.

If you are a returning student, our teachers fill out a leveling chart for each student at the end of the season for the office staff to have on hand when you enroll for a new class.

  • Everything is available under the “Classes” tab on the main menu of our website.

  • For events and new enrollment, payment is due at the time of registration. During our normal dance season, tuition for an enrolled dancer is due between the 1st and the 10th of each month. After the 10th, a $10 late fee is added on.

We try our best to contact everyone who may be late on tuition, to help avoid this. We take cash, card, check, money order, and PayPal. Cash, check, or money orders can be dropped by during our closed hours- just drop in our mail slot to the the left of the front door and include your student’s name on the envelope.

Our Paypal link is Paypal.me/egdokc. Epic learning fund is accepted, but only as a form of tuition reimbursement.

  • Good question! Every dancer and dance school is different.

The best way for us to place you in the appropriate classes is for you to take a class. The teacher will evaluate you and recommend placement.

Since it’s both frustrating and can lead to injury to dance at a technical level you’re not prepared for, it’s important for you and the rest of the class that you’re to be placed at the appropriate level.

If you took classes with us in a previous year, give us a call or stop by and we can give you your instructor’s level recommendations.

Due to our particular studio’s leveling, a student can expect to spend at least 2-3 years in each level before being moved up by the instructor.

  • Students are required to dress in the class uniform. Details on the dress code for each class are available for each type of class on our Class Descriptions page or in our Student Handbook, both found on our main menu under “Classes.”

  • We offer classes for dancers age 18 months through 108 years! Nobody is too old to dance! Many of our classes include adult students. Dancing is a great way to have fun and get a great workout at the same time. We even have several “just for fun” classes where students will not perform, so don’t let a touch of stage fright keep you from dancing.

  • For a small fee, we offer ‘drop-ins’ for classes, so don’t let the commitment of attending all season keep you from dancing, either! Try a class out to see if you like it before officially committing!

  • We actually have several dance companies: EGD Tap Company, Junior & Senior Hip Hop Crews, EGD Acro Company, Flamenco Fantastico, and the EGD Companies: Mini, Petite, Junior, Senior, Pre-Professional, and Adult, which specialize in Jazz, Ballet, Modern, Musical Theatre, Lyrical, and Contemporary.

Students wanting to audition for companies will attend a 2-day audition process, involving audition-prep classes & formal auditions. If you’d like to join, inquire at the front desk for more details.

Details on all the Dance Companies are available under “Classes” on the main menu.

  • We have one major performance per year: our end of year dance Recital, which takes place Memorial Day Weekend in May at Bishop McGuinness High School Auditorium. The Spring Performance features the entire student body, with the exception of certain non-performing classes (ex: Leaps & Turns, Strength & Stretch).

  • All of our important studio information, including policies, procedures, rules, save-the-dates, and more, can be found in our Student Handbook, which found on our main menu under "Classes".

  • We are not always closed when the schools are closed, as we try to stay open for classes as much as possible.

Our regular office hours are listed on the Contact page of our website.

Give the studio a call during office hours or check our Facebook or Instagram pages to find out about any bad weather closings.

To find out when we are closed for holidays and school breaks, view the Student Handbook under "Save the Dates".

  • You can find the dates for our annual recital on your enrollment paperwork!

Performance & rehearsal dates can also be found in the Student Handbook under "Save the Dates", which also lists other important dates: studio closings, picture weeks, etc. Most fall-spring classes (except for specified “technique-only” classes) perform in our annual dance recital.

For our Companies, our students perform all around the Metro during the year. You can follow us on social media to see where our companies may perform next!
