Shannon Primeau

The EGD family has partnered with Communities Foundation of Oklahoma in order to keep the legacy of the late and original founder of the Everything Goes Dance Studio Shannon Yolanda Calderon Primeau alive. The Shannon Primeau Memorial Scholarship is offered to students who are sophomores at the following universities; The University of Oklahoma, The University of Central Oklahoma, and Oklahoma City University. The following majors are acceptable to apply: dance education, dance therapy, dance performance, dance business / entrepreneurship, dance psychology, and dance pedagogy. Students must have a minimum of a 3.5 GPA.   The application is completed online on the Communities Foundation of Oklahoma website. Please refer to the website for dates as to when the scholarship opens and when deadline occur. The scholarship is in the amount of $1,000.00 (500 per semester). Recipients are recognized at our annual EGD Dance Revue.

 

For those who would like to keep this scholarship flourishing for many years to come, please consider donating to the Shannon Primeau Memorial Scholarship. We cannot accept cash. Donations must be made through check or online. Checks MUST be payable to Communities Foundation of Oklahoma, memo line: Shannon Primeau Scholarship. Please DO NOT make checks to any personal names or to EGD. Feel free to drop checks off at the EGD studio (1721 NW 16th St. OKC, OK 73106) during operating hours or at the Communities Foundation of Oklahoma location (801 NW 63rd Street, Suite 200 Oklahoma City, OK 73116).

The Shannon Primeau Memorial Scholarship committee is made up of the following individuals; Erika Carmen Vasquez (Founder), Jorgee Reyes, Adelita Dixon-Hernandez, Cameelah Pennington, Christy Harder, and Shirley Bellew. The committee welcomes donations anytime and any day, but there are two dates in particular that symbolize days of significance to Shannon Calderon Primeau; September 23rd (Birthday) and May 12th (Day of passing). Please keep these dates in mind and share with others these important days. Our committee is hard at work planning dinner banquets, raffles, and fundraisers to honor Shannon Primeau, her family, students, friends, and scholarship recipients.
